Good to hear that you have very good knowledge in networking side.
I beleive that Considering SAP BASIS as a carrer for you is definitely a good idea, but have to think about getting job as initially...Chances are there but need to get strong in module to get into the same.
As suggested by Ms.Priyanka learning BASIS module is an added advantage more over you will enhance your skills on the same.
before getting training Try to refer sap.help.com to know more about BASIS in detail, hand on experience is mandatory to know the same in debth. accordingly based on your confidence you can look forward.
