It's really strange. You are adding an absence for, Jan while you are in March and you would see it in current month!
I n fact by adding this absence system can calculate difference amount which will be negative amount(deduction amount not payment amount) in this case and carry forward to Feb. and then difference of 2nd month will forward to current month and calculation will be ok but why you would show the absence day in March?
I recommend to show quota amounts(Entitlement, used and remain) for example.
